The 990 Pro is Samsung's high-end Gen4 consumer SSD, aimed at demanding gaming and creative workloads. Units in this listing were manufactured in early 2023. This version has no heatsink — add one for PS5 or heavy sustained loads. Check that your motherboard or laptop has a free M.2 2280 slot with NVMe (PCIe) support; PCIe 4.0 drives also work in PCIe 3.0 slots at the slot's lower speed. Used drives are sold as-is — please back up any data on the drive you replace.
It is an NVMe M.2 2280 drive using PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe 2.0. It does not work in an M.2 slot that is SATA-only.
